Poker King can be Bigger than Rounders

A star in the Hollywood film Rounders, Jonny Chan, the ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, stated the new Chinese-Language movie, which is provisionally termed Poker King, could easily be huge than the 1998 hit.

Role in the Movie
Jonny, a professional poker player, is looking forward and hoping to land a role in the film. The movie will be shot in the Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival. Venue will be the Galaxy World Casino and Hotel in Macau. Chan is stressing that Poker King has a strong potential to be huge than Rounders in many ways. He commented that since there are more than a billion people speaking Chinese in the world, while the United States has only about three million, the movie has signs of being big. Rounders gave the western world a novel lease of life and it might kick start a poker boom in all Asia.

The Festival
The Asian Poker Tour will commence on the 12 to 23 August, while the main even will be featuring a $4,300 by-in set. The festival is also expecting to see a wide range of side shows that have never been seen in all Asia, with sit-and-go tables and high limit games expected to run within the twelve-day event.

Poker King
Poker King will star some of the currently famous and biggest names in the Chinese cinema scene, such as Josie Ho, Stephy Tang, Louis Koo, Cherrie In, Ching-Wan and Sean Lau, while the Cinema release is expected to be later within in year.

Fantastic Filming
Chan also said he had such a fantastic time shooting Rounders in the 90’s. He said a huge part of his involvement was behind the scenes as he aided in teaching the cast, John Malkovich Edward Norton and Matt Damon how to play Poker. He also played in the film, which gives him some recognition in the contemporary world outside the poker scene, while the movie had a dazzling impact on poker by giving it a novel dose of life. Chan can see many people in the Chinese language area being turned on by Poker King, which might just be a catalyst for A new kind of poker boom.
